“Intolerance” To Come To Smithsonian’s Freer Sackler Gallery March 9

Ordinary actresses weren’t convincing, so DW Griffith used real prostitutes for the harem scenes of ancient Babylon in his epic film, “Intolerance.”  Revolutionary methods of film making introduced in this masterpiece are too numerous to mention (Griffith invented the crane shot, using a freight elevator, for one).  Come see for yourself, and hear Boister bring the genius of Griffith’s vision to life with our original score. And on a Saturday at 3 pm, you can bring the kids and the parents, too.
